Premium scrubs are an investment. The polyester-rayon-spandex blends used in dews COMFex — along with Silvadur™ antibacterial treatment — require specific care to maintain stretch recovery, colour depth, and antibacterial efficacy over years of daily clinical use.
The Complete dews COMFex Care Protocol
- Wash temperature: Cold wash at 30°C. Above 40°C degrades spandex elasticity and weakens the Silvadur silver-ion bond
- Detergent: Mild, colour-safe, non-biological. Avoid bleach — chlorine neutralises Silvadur protection permanently
- First washes: Wash with similar dark colours for the first 3–4 washes to prevent dye transfer
- Drying: Line dry in shade or tumble dry on low heat only
- Ironing: Medium heat only. Avoid the logo area entirely
- Storage: Fold flat or hang. Never leave damp in a bag
Always wash your dews COMFex scrubs before wearing for the first time. This removes manufacturing residues and fully activates the fabric softness and colour depth.
What Degrades Scrub Fabric Fastest
The three biggest fabric killers: hot water washes above 40°C, chlorine bleach, and high-heat machine drying. Hot water breaks down spandex, bleach destroys the antibacterial finish, and high heat shrinks the rayon content. Avoid all three and your COMFex scrubs will perform through hundreds of wash cycles.
When to Replace Your Scrubs
Signs your scrubs need replacing: visible pilling on the fabric surface, loss of colour depth, reduced stretch recovery, or visible thinning in high-friction areas. With correct care, dews COMFex scrubs should perform well for 18–24 months of daily clinical use.
